Performance Evaluation Processes

Customer Profile: A medium sized IT Services Company

Problem: The founders wanted to evaluate the quality of their manpower and be able to address the performance appraisal and compensation policies based on the capabilities.

Solution: We worked with the technical leadership team to clearly define the capabilities expected of each person in the organization. The common roles across the organization were defined and the capabilities were mapped to each role. Once the capability mapping was done, a capability matrix was evolved for each role and individual. Individuals did a self-appraisal followed by their manager and the CXOs. Thus, a final rating was arrived at for each individual.

Benefit: A framework for a clear comparison between expected and actual performance of an individual was established. This also helped the organization identify training needs which then the HR head was able to use to create a master training plan comprising trainings on different technical and managerial skill sets.
