Customer Profile: A leading manufacturer of packaged food products.


Problem: The client had grown over a period of time and there was a need to bring in professional HR practices of which the ability to evaluate performance of the employees is an important one.


Solution: In the absence of clarity on the employee expectations, we first started with a creation of an organization chart mapping of the line responsibilities and the functional responsibilities. Each person’s job description was clearly documented along with mapping of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) at each role. All this was converted into a performance appraisal system wherein each employee was rated on the job description and his performance arriving at a numerical score which gave the employee a clarity on what is expected of him as well as how he is perceived by the organization to be performing. 


Benefit: Having a professional appraisal system helps in addressing employee concerns about their performance and aligning the compensation structure to performance. The organization’s maturity is also reflected in the ability to professionally evaluate employee performance and give feedback at regular intervals so that employees dissatisfaction can be addressed in a professional manner.
